The 2006 challenge was entitled Aim High, a competition in which each robot had
to shoot goals into a high center goal or push balls into two low side goals in
order to score points. The challenge forced teams to carefully consider defensive
and offensive strategic decisions while constructing their robots. Our robot, Rosie,
elevated our team's reputation from that of a respectable, well-rounded junior team
to that of a powerful and experienced force to be reckoned with.
During this season, the team underwent a restructuring to best accommodate its
growing number of members. The team was divided into six sub-teams: Build, Programming,
Animation, Website, Fundraising/PR, and Spirit. By dividing the labor between sub-groups
with specialized leaders, the team as a whole could concentrate on being as productive
and successful as possible.

Some of our achievements that season included winning the Pacific Northwest Regional,
winning the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Entrepreneurship Award at two different regionals
(PNR and SVR), winning the website excellence award and the Engineering Inspiration Award.
We also attended the FIRST Robotics National Competition in Georgia!

Additionally, the team established a LEGO robotics program at a local
elementary school, St. Elizabeth Seton School, for underprivileged children with limited
exposure to science and technology. Team members took turns mentoring teams of students
in designing and programming simple LEGO robots and helped spark students' interest in engineering.
